Busker is a new app focused on rewarding artists for their creations. As musicians, this would be the cyber version of real world busking.
Live stream yourself jamming, attract an audience, and receive tips! Yes, Busker allows viewers to drop Tips in your guitar case (or PayPal/Bank Account) if they dig the vibes.
Busker is still fairly new and is currently available only on iOS. However, the community is interactive, engaged, and I’ve watched viewers leaves tips in several live streams I’ve tuned into.
Download Busker to your iOS device.
When you first open the app you will be asked to sign in using Twitter or Facebook.
After signing in with Twitter, my profile photo, bio and username were imported to my Busker profile. I changed my username to my Stage Name by clicking the edit pencil icon in the upper right corner.
Today I’ll be shining a little light on songwriter Corey Shields since I was tuned into his stream when I took these screenshots.
Once tuned into a stream, there are several things you can do.
- Swipe left to see the performers profile.
- Swipe right to see who is watching.
- Tap the Busker icon (lower-right) to leave a tip or to like the performance.
While viewing the profile screen, we are able to share the stream by clicking the Share Icon in the upper-right.
You can also subscribe to the performer’s channel and read their bio from this screen.
If you wish to leave the stream, simply tap the X in the upper-right corner.
Ready to go live? Tap the Record Icon in the upper-right corner.
Busker will ask “What’s Going On?”, this is your live stream’s title or headline.
You can also share to FB and Twitter assuming you have connected them to your Busker account.
To flip the camera, tap the Flip Icon in the upper-right.
